# Maxim AI alternatives

> Maxim's public pages now sell its AI gateway rather than its evaluation platform. What that means if you are buying the eval product.

Maxim built an evaluation and simulation platform with real voice support, including audio evaluators and telephony through your own provider credentials. The documentation for it is still there.

## What changed on the website

As of 5 October 2026, the homepage sells Bifrost, their AI gateway. The pricing page is titled for Bifrost and lists only two tiers, an open-source build and an enterprise one.

The evaluation platform has no pricing page at all. Figures for it circulate in search results and third-party articles, and none of them is on a page Maxim currently publishes.

## What to ask before buying

- Which product the quote covers, the gateway or the evaluation platform.
- Current pricing for the eval platform in writing, since none is published.
- Whether custom evaluators work on voice simulation runs yet, which the docs listed as not yet supported.
- Which tier includes self-hosting, which the docs describe without naming a tier.

## If the job is pre-release simulation

Maxim's voice simulation is real and Coval publishes both its documentation and its prices. Hamming is the other name in that space, with pricing on request.

We do none of that. We run no simulations, so if rehearsing a voice agent before launch is the problem, this is the wrong page to be reading.

## If the job is production

Evidova reads conversations that already happened from the platform you already run, scores every one against rules you approved, and publishes how far those scores agree with your own reviewers.

No instrumentation, no simulated callers, and nothing to configure inside your agent.
