# Send a report to a client

> Produce a dated report you can forward to a client, and the conversation list behind it.

Use this when a client, or an auditor, wants a dated document rather than a screen.

![The audit report screen: numbered versions with their periods on the left, and the selected report on the right with its coverage, results and data settings.](/docs/send-a-report-to-a-client.png)

## The steps

1. Open the account menu at the top right and choose the audit report. Setup links to it in its first line as well.
2. Press Generate. It builds the trailing 90 days ending now, and the list on the left gains a numbered version with its period and its scope.
3. Select that version. The document opens beside the list.
4. Read it through. It says what the scoring was measured with, which agents were in scope, how much was covered, the results by score area, what people reviewed, what happened to every alert, and the retention and masking settings as they stood when the figures were measured.
5. Press Download for a file you can forward. It is a markdown file, and it carries the same figures plus the notes your team wrote on each alert, with names and times.
6. Press Copy summary instead if you only need the figures pasted into a mail.

## The weekly mail

The other thing that leaves the workspace on a schedule is the Monday digest, linked from the same screen. It carries what fired, why customers gave up and whether that is moving, and what the team closed, with the name of the person who closed it.

On that screen, Copy the text gives you the mail body. Send it to me now mails it to you, so you read it before anybody else does. There is also a link to the version that goes out as formatted mail.

## What to do with what you find

Say what the document is when you forward it. It is a convenience copy of what the product recorded for that period, not a signed or certified record, and it says so on itself.

Recipients of the weekly mail are the people in this workspace. A manager who should get it is invited as a free read-only seat, so mail stays a delivery channel rather than a way around the invite list.

Generating a report is an admin action, and a member who downloads one is recorded as having done so.

> **Note:** Three limits to know before you promise a client anything. The period is fixed at the trailing 90 days ending now, so there is no control for picking a quarter. The scope comes from your own account rather than from a picker, so a workspace account cannot generate one client's report. And the document carries no conversation ids, so a figure in it cannot be followed back to the conversations behind it. For that, filter the conversation list and download it as a CSV.
