# Vapi call quality

> Score what the agent said on every Vapi call, not only whether the call connected, and read the turn behind any number you doubt.

Vapi ships more call evaluation than most platforms. It is worth knowing exactly what it grades, because the answer decides whether you need anything else.

## What Vapi evaluates natively

| | |
|---|---|
| Summary | A short account of the call. |
| Structured data | Fields pulled out of the transcript against a schema you define. |
| Success evaluation | Whether the call met objectives inferred from your system prompt. |
| Scorecards | Scoring rules applied to structured outputs once the call ends. |

Success evaluation supports several scales, including one to ten, pass or fail, a checklist and a percentage. The standard is yours and a model applies it.

Vapi's own documentation says the quiet part out loud: AI-generated structured outputs can be wrong, and it recommends validating them against human-reviewed calls.

## What an outside judge changes

The default success evaluation scores the call against objectives inferred from the same prompt that produced the call. The thing being scored supplies the standard.

- Several judges from different model families score each conversation on its own.
- A further judge settles a disagreement between them.
- Agreement with your own reviewers is measured and published for your workspace, not asserted.
- Every result cites the turn it came from.

> Vapi's `analysisPlan` still works and remains available. Structured outputs and scorecards are the newer path. Neither is going away today, so this is a choice rather than a migration.

## Connect it without changing the agent

1. Paste the Evidova webhook URL into your Vapi assistant's server URL.
We read the transcript Vapi already produces. The agent's behaviour is untouched.
2. Approve the rules you want every call held to.
A rule you did not approve cannot score your calls.

Vapi gives millisecond timestamps, so reply times and turn order are exact rather than reconstructed.
