Change the words on screen

What you can rename today, what the product calls things, and where the words come from.

Use this when your team calls something by its own name, and you would rather the product used their word than teach everybody ours.

Read this part first, because it changes what the rest of the guide can promise. The product's own words are fixed. No setting renames a score, a measure, a screen or a role, and every workspace reads the same words off the same figures.

The steps

1. Open Setup in the left rail, then Clients. The pencil on a row renames that customer, and the new name appears everywhere the product shows them. This is the one product label a workspace can edit.
2. For the words used about scoring, open Scoring quality, then What we check. Every rule there is phrased as a question, and those questions come out of the documents you gave us.
3. To change how a question reads, change the writing behind it. Setup, then What we check, is the door to that, and the guide on adding a rule of your own walks the whole path.
4. For everything else, read Every word we use in this documentation. It gives the plain phrase for each idea and the formal name behind it, so your team can map their word onto ours once instead of arguing about it every week.

What to do with what you find

The reason the words are fixed is that they were not always. One figure here once carried four different names on four screens, and somebody told to download one thing could not find the screen that called itself another. The product now keeps one word per idea, in one place, and that is what makes a sentence in a report and a label on a screen agree.

Two places your own words do reach the screen: a client's name, and the question a rule asks. Both are worth spending time on, because both are read far more often than any label you might want changed.

If a word we use genuinely does not work for your team, tell us. We change it once, for everyone, rather than shipping a setting that lets two people in one workspace read different labels off the same figure.
